Dates and Information
We are holding space for local Austin area youth groups
for possible in-person Sleep-At-Home weeks.
*If you are a local Austin area youth group and would like to hold a place in a Sleep-At-Home week, you may do so with a $35 per person deposit. If we are unable to host Sleep-At-Home daytime mission trips, your groups will be transferred to a live virtual week. Costs will be determined by June 1 based on number of meals and days of service. The cost will be no more than $225 per person. We will have a final cost for your group by June 1, after a final consultation with each youth leader. It is our desire to remain as flexible as possible so that we can provide your group with a full yet safe experience.
Please register online by May 1.

The United States has the fourth-highest poverty rate, despite being the largest economy in the world. Wealth inequality is growing. What types of inquality exist in America? Why is there inequality in America? As followers of Jesus, how can we partner to move toward justice?
Youth will learn the difference between equality and equity, discuss root causes of poverty, inequality, and the systems that perpetuate injustice. Youth will have extensive conversations about the effects of systemic racism on income inequality.
Groups will also talk with community leaders and work with faith-based organizations that advocate on behalf of vulnerable and low-income communities. Groups will have time together each evening for a justice-based Bible study and discussion, and will participate in a mock legislative hearing on income related issues.
Youth will serve with local organizations working to address hunger, homelessness, poverty, racism, and inequity.
Reach Beyond Mission will partner with organizations that already have social distancing measures in place. We may be unable to work directly with neighbors in some vulnerable communities. Work sessions may be shorter or in smaller groups. We will know more as we move closer to summer.
